Come on in and make yourself at home.
This is my friend D, (with a friend in one photo) in Kyoto, where as you know you can dress up as Maiko. D took it a step further on the fabulous scale and dressed up as an Oiran!
She was allowed to put together her own kimono with or without the advice of the shop staff, and they put on the very thick makeup and did her hair as well.
The long pipe is called a “kiseru” and is normally about 6 inches long. ONLY Oiran use pipes as long as this, called specifically “Oiran Kiseru”.
Dさんは花魁さまになった!京都にレンタルで着物。きせるもかっこいだね?それは「花魁きせる」だ。花魁さんさけつける。 花魁の着物は虹色だよ。。。
